About Oliver
Oliver Mills-Edward is the founder and principal psychologist at OM Psychology in Fremantle. He is an AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) Registered Psychologist and a current member of the APS (Australian Psychology Society). With over seven years of experience, Oliver’s breadth of knowledge allows him to support people through some of their hardest personal challenges.
After originally graduating as an accountant Oliver quickly found himself in a career that didn’t motivate him or align with his values and so decided to re-evaluate his vocational journey and switch paths to a career following his passion for youth mental health which he developed whilst volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia. This switch meant he could engage and provide a service that was far more meaningful to him.
Oliver commenced his psychological career working in Fremantle with disadvantaged adults who had recently found themselves unemployed, isolated from their social networks and struggling to meet the demands of life. He spent time providing psychological services up in the Kimberley, WA before eventually transitioning across to early intervention and youth mental health with Headspace Fremantle.
OM PSYCHOLOGY
More info
Since this time, Oliver has had the privilege of providing education at local schools, mentoring young psychologists and psychology students, and has continued to build on his knowledge through a range of sector collaborations. Each of these experiences has further consolidated his passion for being able to help and support others through whatever life throws at them.
Recently, Oliver has been travelling around Australia presenting mental health fitness programs with Prime Effect to jobseekers to help them prepare for entering the workforce with increased resilience. These programs have been presented alongside professional athletes from a number of sports to provide an insight into how the psychology of building resilience to stress is as important when preparing for work as it is preparing for professional sport. Facilitating these programs has allowed Oliver to combine his love of Psychology, sport and supporting others, which also opened the door for Oliver to begin work as a psychologist facilitator along side the Tackle Your Feelings program. This program delivers mental health training to community football and netball clubs around Australia.
In March 2025, Oliver was excited to have received the ANZAED Eating Disorder Credential, issued by the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED). This credential formally recognizes his qualifications, training, and commitment to providing safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment for individuals experiencing eating disorders.
